KCS Intermodal

The Kansas City Southern (KCS) Railway Company

Kansas City Southern Railway’s 500-acre distribution park opened July 9, 2015. The David L. Starling Wylie Intermodal Terminal serves as the hub of connectivity for rail as far north as Canada and as far south as Central America. With more than 6,000 track miles, KCS is one interchange away from all major markets in North America.

KCS services 12 gulf ports and one Pacific Ocean port, as well as more than 140 transload centers and 11 intermodal ramps. KCS also provides 181 interchange points with other railroads, including all U.S. and Mexico Class 1 railroads.

The annual lift capacity is 342,000 twenty-foot-equivalent units and the facility has 9,400 feet of working classification track.

Available Space

The $64-million David L. Starling Wylie Intermodal Terminal has a ±220-acre greenfield site well suited for light industrial/assembly and distribution build-to-suit projects with a cumulative capacity of approximately 2 million square feet.  With nearby access to U.S. 75 and Interstate 30, the Wylie hub is well positioned to serve all north/south and east/west markets and provides the best opportunity for significant industrial growth.  The WEDC is prepared to access local, State, and Federal programs for the development of infrastructure and assistance packages.
