Wylie EDC Announces April Lunch n' Learn Program

Wylie, Texas - March 17, 2022.  The Wylie Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with Wylie Economic Development Corporation (Wylie EDC), today announced its April Lunch n’ Learn educational program, Social Media 301: Expanding Your Content. The April program will take a look at more advanced social media platforms and techniques to optimize the effectiveness and reach of social media marketing programs. Focusing on more advanced social media platforms, the April Lunch 'n Learn will be held Wednesday, April 20th from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church, 100 N. First Street, Wylie, Texas (Room 248).  Deli lunch will be provided for registered attendees.

The Lunch 'n Learn series is a new program offered to businesses large and small. The program is intended to provide educational content in a quick lunchtime format.  “We know that time is at a premium for our business owners,” commented Jason Greiner, Executive Director, Wylie EDC.  “That is why this program is designed to identify educational topics of most interest to our businesses and present them in a quick lunchtime format.  If we learned anything in the last two years, it’s that business environments can turn in the blink of an eye.  We are dedicated to helping our businesses stay up to speed on emerging market trends and tools so that they are prepared for whatever comes next."

In March, participants explored the basics of creating social media posts and campaigns, explored the various tools and dashboards for creating this content and methods used to schedule posts in advance to allow business owners to create effective campaigns while managing their workflow.  In April, we will take a look at the next level of social media marketing including blogs, podcasts and other platforms for optimizing the reach and diversity of social media marketing.

"At the end of the day, how well did the campaign get my business noticed is the only thing that truly matters,” stated Mike Agnew, President of the Wylie Chamber of Commerce.  “By learning how to use all platforms effectively, businesses can target their marketing more effectively and determine the best vehicles for reaching their target audience."

Lunch 'n Learn programs are provided at no charge as a member benefit for Chamber of Commerce members.  Non-members can attend for a nominal charge of $20 pp which includes the program and lunch.  The Wylie EDC is providing complimentary registration to the first 25 non-members to attend as our guest.
