Location
Wylie, Texas is located 24 miles northeast of the Dallas Central Business District with its city limits extending into Collin, Dallas, and Rockwall Counties. With a population that has more than quadrupled over the past 20 years, Wylie has grown expansively. Our 60,000+ residents are at the heart of a Primary Retail Trade Area of over 148,000 consumers and, within 10 miles, businesses have access to over 600,000 people. Wylie is located right in the middle of a huge growth corridor, with Collin County projected to grow nearly 100% from approximately 1 million residents currently to nearly 1.9 million residents by year 2050.
Highways & Interstate
With growth comes transportation challenges which are difficult at best to plan for. In 2005, Wylie addressed capacity needs of almost every primary and secondary arterial roadway in the community. Complementing the local commitment, TxDOT has also completed expansions to the now-widened 6-lane primary arterials of F.M. 544 and State Highway 78 connecting Wylie to the President George Bush Turnpike (US 190), US 75, US 380, and all of eastern Collin County.
With direct routes to the President George Bush Turnpike (SH 190) (4.5 miles) and US 75 (10 miles), Wylie is uniquely located to easily access regional markets via interstate. I-635 (13 miles), I-30 (14 miles), I-35 (27 miles) and I-20 (27 miles) are all within an approximate 30-minute drive.
Rail & Ports
Canadian Pacific Kansas City Southern Railway (CPKC) owns and operates the local Wylie Intermodal Terminal and ±362-acre logistics park with direct access to State Hwy 78. Intermodal operations directly connect Wylie distributors to all Class I rail operators from Canada to Central America. From Wylie, you can easily ship product across North America or to ports for international destinations.
