Hwy 78 and Brown Street Redevelopment Begins

Wylie, Texas – April 11, 2022.  The Wylie Economic Development Corporation (Wylie EDC) today announced the kick-off of the tree removal and site preparation for the 13+ acre redevelopment project located at the corner of Hwy 78 and Brown Street here in Wylie, TX. As previously reported, the Wylie EDC began acquisition of these properties in late 2018.  In total, 15 properties were acquired over the course of several years to establish one larger tract of land.

"Site preparation for the relocation of the North Texas Municipal Water District’s 42” water line will start soon,” stated Jason Greiner, Executive Director of the Wylie EDC. “The engineering and tree surveying is complete, so the tree removal and site development work can begin in the next few days."

The overall water line relocation and grading of the site will be complete in late 2022. Vertical construction can commence shortly after, but is not anticipated until the first half or middle of 2023. Interested parties should contact the Wylie EDC directly by calling 972-442-7901 or by email at Info@WylieEDC.com.
